Why Track Competitors?
When AI answer engines respond to user queries, they often mention multiple brands. By tracking competitors, you can:- See who else appears when your brand is mentioned
- Identify prompts where competitors appear but you don’t

Adding Competitors
Manual Addition
- Navigate to Competitors in the sidebar
- Click Add Competitor
- Enter the competitor’s details:
- Name: The primary brand name
- Website: Their main domain
- Aliases: Alternative names or spellings
- Click Save
Suggested Competitors
ChatFeatured can suggest competitors based on your brand and industry:- Click Get Suggestions on the Competitors page
- Review the suggested competitors
- Click Add next to any you want to track
- Brands that frequently appear alongside yours in AI responses
- Companies in your category
- Names mentioned in your prompt results
Managing Competitors
Editing Competitors
Click on any competitor to edit their details:- Update the name if branding changes
- Add aliases to catch variations
- Update website URL
Removing Competitors
To stop tracking a competitor:- Select the competitor
- Click Delete
Removing a competitor doesn’t delete historical data where they were mentioned. Past results remain unchanged.
Competitor Aliases
Aliases help catch all variations of a competitor’s name:- Abbreviations: “IBM” for “International Business Machines”
- Product names: “Office 365” for “Microsoft”
- Common misspellings: “Atlassian” and “Atlasian”
- Alternative formats: “HubSpot” and “Hub Spot”
Viewing Competitor Data
In Prompt Results
When viewing individual prompt results, you’ll see:- Which competitors were mentioned in each response
- Their position relative to your brand
- The context of their mention

The analytics dashboard shows competitive metrics:- Mention Rate Comparison: Your rate vs. competitor rates
- Head-to-Head: Direct comparison on shared prompts
- Visibility Trends: How competitor visibility is changing
