Prompts are the foundational measurement units of ChatFeatured. They represent the exact conversational questions, product comparisons, and discovery queries real users submit to AI answer engines. By executing prompts on a scheduled cadence across multiple AI platforms, ChatFeatured monitors:
  • Brand Visibility (%): Whether your brand is recommended or cited in the answer.
  • Competitor Mentions: Which competing brands appear alongside or in place of yours.
  • Citation Sources: What external URLs and domains the AI relied upon to build its answer.
  • Brand Sentiment: How favorably your brand is portrayed (on a 1–100 scale).

Adding Prompts

You can populate prompts through four methods:
Ask the AEO Agent to research and add prompts conversationally:
  • “Let’s work on my prompt strategy. Review the prompts you’re currently tracking for my brand, do a keyword research to figure out the questions my customers actually ask AI assistants, and suggest a comprehensive prompt tracking strategy by tag — so I get the clearest picture of my AI search visibility.”
  • “Analyze our competitor Trysight and suggest 10 commercial-intent comparison prompts we’re missing.”

Writing Effective Prompts for AEO

Prompts should accurately reflect how prospective buyers interact with conversational search assistants:
Avoid keyword stuffing or traditional Boolean SEO operators. Write full questions and scenarios.
  • Effective: “What is the best automated customer support software for Shopify stores?”
  • Avoid: “best customer support software shopify list”
Buyers frequently ask AI engines to evaluate market alternatives.
  • Effective: “Compare Slack vs Teams for mid-market engineering teams.”
  • Effective: “What are the top open-source alternatives to Datadog?”
Incorporate real constraints like company size, industry vertical, and compliance requirements.
  • Effective: “Which SOC2-compliant CRM is best for a 50-person fintech startup?”

Prompt Execution & Cadence

Automated Daily Runs

All active prompts run automatically once per day across all AI models included in your plan, building longitudinal visibility, sentiment, and citation trends over time.

Understanding Run Results

Clicking on any prompt in Data Analytics opens its detailed Run Results view:
Turn Gaps into Content: If a prompt shows high competitor visibility and zero mentions for your brand, go to the Articles tab and click “Add Article” create an article based on that prompt to target the queries and sources AI engines cite.Visibility Gap Generation

Managing Prompt Status & Lifecycle

You can control prompt execution states from the prompts table:
  • Active: The prompt runs daily across all 7 AI answer engines and updates your analytics widgets.
  • Inactive (Paused): Daily execution is stopped. All historical visibility data, sentiment scores, and past citations are preserved. Use this to pause seasonal queries or control run quotas without losing history.
  • Delete: Permanently removes the prompt and purges all historical run logs, sentiment trends, and citation data.
Avoid Accidental Deletion: Deleting a prompt cannot be undone and removes historical data from your overall visibility charts. Always set a prompt to Inactive if you may need historical data later.

Organizing with Tags

Tags allow you to segment and filter your prompt library across reports, dashboards, and automated workflows.

Common Tagging Strategies

  • discovery — “What are the best tools for X?”
  • comparison — “Tool A vs Tool B”
  • alternatives — “Alternatives to Tool C”
  • troubleshooting — “How to fix issue Y”
Analytics Filtering: In the Analytics Dashboard, you can filter your entire visibility report by specific tags to evaluate which product line or search intent category has the highest AI citation share.

Geographic Targeting

AI models tailor their recommendations based on geographic IP location. ChatFeatured supports multi-region execution:
  1. When adding or editing a prompt, select one or more target countries (e.g., United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada).
  2. ChatFeatured runs localized queries through regional nodes.
  3. In Analytics, use the Country filter to compare how your AI visibility fluctuates across global markets.
