Why Framer?
Framer’s plugin architecture makes setup straightforward. The ChatFeatured plugin automatically handles article syncing while you maintain full control over your content and design within Framer.The Framer integration uses a dedicated plugin that runs directly in your Framer project. This means seamless syncing with automatic CMS collection configuration—no manual setup required.
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Create an Integration in ChatFeatured
- In ChatFeatured, go to Integrations → Framer
- Click Create integration
- You’ll receive an API Key (save this securely)
Step 2: Install the Framer Plugin
- Open your Framer project
- Go to Plugins → Browse
- Search for “ChatFeatured CMS Sync”
- Click to install the plugin
- Enable email notifications (optional but recommended)
Step 3: Configure the Plugin
- Open the ChatFeatured plugin in Framer
- Paste your API Key from Step 1
- Click “Connect” to verify the connection
- The plugin will automatically configure your CMS collection
- Status: Waiting for Framer Connection (initially)
- Your API Key: Copy it from here if needed
- Settings: Email notification preferences
Step 4: Start Syncing Articles
- In ChatFeatured, generate or write an article
- Click Publish
- Select Framer as your destination
- Configure:
- Publish method: “Framer” (auto-filled)
- Notification: Get email when article syncs
- Click Sync to Framer
Publishing Workflow
Generate Articles
Create your article in ChatFeatured with:- Title
- Content/body
- Optional: featured image, excerpt, metadata
Schedule for Sync
In ChatFeatured publishing settings:- Select Framer as destination
- Choose “Sync when ready” or “Schedule for later”
- Articles automatically queue for sync
Receive Notification
You’ll get an email when articles are ready to sync (if notifications enabled).Complete Sync in Framer
- Open the ChatFeatured plugin in your Framer project
- Click Sync to import waiting articles
- Articles appear in your CMS collection
- Edit and design as needed in Framer
Managing Your Content
After Syncing
Once articles sync to Framer, you can:- Edit article content in Framer’s CMS editor
- Style articles with Framer’s design system
- Schedule publication within Framer
- Organize articles into categories or collections
Updating Articles
If you update an article in ChatFeatured after syncing, you can re-sync it. Framer will prompt you to update or create a new version.Deleting Articles
Deleting an article in ChatFeatured doesn’t delete it from Framer. You manage deletions within Framer’s CMS.Advanced Configuration
Multiple CMS Collections
If you have different article types (blog, news, tutorials), you can create separate integrations for each collection.Custom Metadata
Framer preserves custom metadata fields during sync. ChatFeatured automatically maps:- Title → CMS Title field
- Content → CMS Body field
- Featured Image → CMS Image field
- Excerpt → CMS Description field

Cause: Framer CMS not set up or collection deletedSolution:
- Create a CMS collection in Framer before syncing
- Ensure collection has Title and Body fields at minimum
- Regenerate integration in ChatFeatured

- Verify email address is correct in ChatFeatured account

- Wait at least 5 minutes before assuming it’s stuck

Best Practices
- Enable email notifications to know when articles are ready
- Test with a single article before syncing batches
- Keep your API Key secure
- Review articles in Framer before publishing live
- Monitor sync progress for large batches
Performance Notes
Syncing typically completes within 2-5 minutes per article. For batch syncs:- 1-5 articles: 5-10 minutes
- 6-15 articles: 15-20 minutes
- 15+ articles: Allow 30+ minutes
