Connecting a Custom Subdomain

To serve your ChatFeatured blog from your own branded domain (for example, blog.scotiabank.com), add a single CNAME record at your domain registrar or DNS provider.
Most Important Setup Step: Add this CNAME record at your domain registrar to point blog.scotiabank.com to your blog:(Replace blog with whatever subdomain prefix you choose, e.g., resources or articles).

Setup Instructions

1. Enable Hosted Blog in Integrations

Navigate to Integrations in your ChatFeatured sidebar, find ChatFeatured Blog, and click Activate.

2. Add Your Domain

Enter your desired custom subdomain (e.g., blog.scotiabank.com).

3. Add CNAME at Your Registrar

Log into your domain registrar (Cloudflare, Namecheap, GoDaddy, etc.) and add the CNAME record pointing your host blog to customers.chatfeatured.com.

4. Automatic SSL Provisioning

Once your CNAME record resolves, ChatFeatured automatically provisions and auto-renews an SSL/TLS certificate via Let’s Encrypt.

5. Customize Brand Styling

Under Settings > Blog Customization:
  • Upload your Brand Logo and Favicon.
  • Set your Primary Brand Color (applied to links, buttons, and callout boxes).
  • Add navigation header links back to your main website or product pages.
  • Add custom footer links (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Contact).

Publishing to Your Hosted Blog

Once activated, the ChatFeatured Blog is available as an instant publishing destination across the platform:
  1. Navigate to Articles in your sidebar.
  2. Open any article in Review or Approved status.
  3. Click Publish and select ChatFeatured Blog.
  4. Confirm the auto-generated URL slug, meta title, meta description, and featured image.
  5. Select Publish Now or schedule the article for a future date.

Articles are automatically enriched with Google- and AI-compliant JSON-LD structured data:
  • Article schema with author attribution, publishing date, and canonical tags.

All headings, comparison tables, key takeaways, and external sources are formatted with clean semantic HTML tags (<article>, <header>, <table>, <blockquote>) to ensure AI crawlers accurately parse facts and entities.

Managing Articles & Redirects

  • Live URL Updates: Editing an article title in ChatFeatured will keep the existing URL slug intact to preserve search rankings. You can manually edit the slug if needed.
  • Unpublishing: Archiving or deleting an article from your ChatFeatured dashboard immediately unpublishes it from your live blog.
  • Canonical URLs: If you republish content that originally appeared elsewhere, you can set a custom canonical URL in the article settings to prevent duplicate content penalties.
