Publishing Only: This integration publishes articles to your Shopify blog. AI crawler analytics aren’t available on standard Shopify plans because Shopify manages the edge infrastructure and CDN logs directly.
Connection Requirements
To connect ChatFeatured, you will create a private app in your Shopify Developer Dashboard and provide:- Shopify Store Domain: Your store’s
.myshopify.comdomain (e.g.,your-brand.myshopify.com), not your public storefront domain (e.g.,yourbrand.com). - Client ID: Found on your app’s Settings page in the Dev Dashboard.
- Client Secret: Found on your app’s Settings page in the Dev Dashboard. The secret is encrypted and stored securely server-side.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Creating a private Shopify app for your store takes about 5 minutes, with no App Store listing or public review involved.1
1. Create an App in the Shopify Dev Dashboard
- Go to dev.shopify.com and sign in with the account that owns your store.
- Open Apps in the sidebar navigation.
- Select Create app, then click Start from Dev Dashboard.
- Name the app anything you like (e.g.,
ChatFeatured Publisher). - Select Create.

2. Add Permissions and Release
- In your new app dashboard, open the Versions tab.
- Set the App URL to:
(Shopify requires an App URL to save a version; ChatFeatured never calls it).
- Add the following access scopes:
read_contentwrite_content
- Uncheck “Embed app in Shopify admin” if the checkbox is shown.
- Select Release and confirm the new version.

3. Install the App on Your Store
- After the version is released, go back to your app’s Home tab in the Dev Dashboard (the app overview page).
- In the Installs section, select Install app.
- Choose your target store from the list, then select Install.

4. Copy Credentials and Connect in ChatFeatured
- In the Dev Dashboard, open the Settings tab for your app.
- Copy your Client ID and Client secret.
- In your ChatFeatured dashboard, navigate to Integrations > Shopify.
- Enter your store’s
.myshopify.comdomain, paste the Client ID and Client secret, and select Connect. - Once connected, pick which Shopify blog ChatFeatured should publish articles to (e.g., News or Blog).
Publishing Articles to Shopify
Once your store is connected, you can publish articles in two ways:- From the Articles Tab
- Using the AEO Agent
- Navigate to Articles in ChatFeatured.
- Open any article in Review or Approved status.
- Click Publish to Shopify.
- Review the auto-generated title, handle, summary excerpt, and featured image.
- Choose Publish Now or schedule it for a future date.

Verify that your Shopify store has at least one active blog created. In your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Blog posts > Manage blogs and confirm a blog (such as News) exists.
